Study Skills at Home
Help your child prepare a study area in your home.
Encourage your child to follow these steps:
When studying, begin by organizing materials and making a schedule of what you need to do. Refer to your Leadership Notebook for important assignments and due dates.
Arrange work in order of priority.
Review classwork each night.
Allow sufficient time to prepare for assessments.
Mark your Leadership Notebook when an assignment is completed and transfer all unfinished tasks to a future date.
Review your previous weekly schedule and make any necessary adjustments for the upcoming week.
Meadow Woods Middle School opened its doors in 1998 under the leadership of our founding principal, Dr. Rivers, who served with dedication until his retirement in 2013. Since then, the school has continued to grow and evolve under the guidance of several passionate leaders-Ms. Bellinger, who served for a year and a half; Mrs. Mendez, who led for seven years; and Mrs. Ninah, who spent two impactful years with us. Today, we are proud to be led by our current principal, Dr. Vitulli. Among our longtime staff is Coach Mitchell, who has been part of our Stallion family since the very first day, August 8, 1998. At one point, our student population exceeded 2,000, earning the nickname “Portable City” due to large number of portable classrooms on campus. We proudly embrace our identity as Stallions, with our Mascot Thunder leading the way and hoof prints once lining the parking lot. Our school song, written by then chorus teacher, Ms. Rehm, still resonates with out spirit and pride. In 2021, our campus underwent a major renovation, further supporting our commitment to growth and excellence. During our 20th anniversary celebration, we honored our past by opening a time capsule that included the first school yearbook-with Dr. Rivers in attendance to mark the occasion. Meadow Woods Middle continues to be “A place to be, belong, and to become.”
Meadow Woods Middle is a proud “B” school. Awarded the only middle school that is a Lighthouse school.
