PARENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (PLC)

Compliance Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the PLC Chairperson and Co-Chairperson in planning the four school based PLC Meetings
  • Ensures that the School PLC Chairperson and Co-Chairperson have the necessary resources to have successful PLC Meetings during the school year
  • Collaborates with the PLC Chairperson in announcing the meetings during the school year
  • Collaborates with the PLC Chairperson and Co-Chairperson to ensure school involvement of parents of ELLs

PLC Chairperson Responsibilities:
(The PLC Chairperson must be a parent of an ELL)

  • Collaborates with the school principal to ensure that the parents of ELLs are actively involved in school
  • Conducts the four PLC meetings for the school year
  • Prepares the AGENDA in collaboration with the Compliance Teacher for all PLC meetings during the school year
  • Appoints the PLC Secretary to ensure that the minutes of the meeting are properly documented
  • Participates in the implementation of the District LEP Plan in school
  • Represents the school in the Annual District PLC Institute
  • Assists parents of ELLs in clarifying misunderstandings or concerns
  • Participates in Due Process meetings for ELLs at the school, if applicable
  • Represents the school in the Annual Learning Community PLC Forum
  • Participates in the revision of the District LEP Plan, if applicable

PLC Co-Chairperson Responsibilities:
(The PLC Co-Chairperson must be a parent of an ELL)

  • Assist the School PLC Chairperson in the planning and the implementation of all meetings and parent involvement activities during the school year
  • Represent the PLC Chairperson in meetings, as applicable

Note: The membership of the school PLC must be composed of at least 51 percent parents of Language Enriched Pupils.  Community members, parent advocates and school staff are also members of the council.

CONSEJO DE LIDERAZGO DE PADRES (PLC)

Responsabilidades de la Coordinadora de ESOL:

  • Colaborar con el Presidente y el vicepresidente del PLC para planificar las cuatro reuniones del PLC
  • Asegurarse que el Presidente y el vicepresidente del PLC tengan suficientes recursos para efectuar las reuniones del PLC exitosamente durante el año escolar
  • Colaborar con el Presidente del PLC para anunciar las reuniones durante el año escolar
  • Colaborar con el Presidente y el vicepresidente del PLC para asegurarse que los padres de ELL están involucrados en las actividades del colegio.

Responsabilidades del Presidente del PLC: 
(El Presidente del PLC debe ser padre o madre de ELL)

  • Colaborar con la directora de la escuela para asegurarse que los padres de ELL están involucrados en las actividades de la escuela
  • Conducir las cuatro reuniones del PLC durante el año escolar
  • Preparar la AGENDA en colaboración con la coordinadora de ESOL (Joley Dominguez Lozada) para las reuniones del PLC durante el año escolar
  • Designar al secreatrio(a) del PLC documentar apropiadamente las reuniones en minutas
  • Participar en la aplicación del Plan de LEP del Distrito en la escuela
  • Representar a la escuela anualmente en el Instituto de PLC del Distrito
  • Asistir a los padres de ELL a clarificar cualquier pregunta o inquietud
  • Participar en las reuniones de "Due Process" para LEP en la escuela, si es necesario
  • Representar a la escuela en el foro anual de PLC en la Comunidad de Aprendizaje
  • Participar en la revisión del plan de LEP del Distrito, si es necesario

Responsabilidades del Vice-presidente de PLC: 
(El Vice-presidente de PLC debe ser un padre de ELL)

  • Ayudar al Presidente del PLC escolar en la planificación y la aplicación de todas las reuniones y actividades de envolvimiento de padres durante el año escolar
  • Representar al Presidente de PLC en las reuniones, cuando sea necesario

Nota: El número de miembros del PLC escolar debe componerse de por lo menos 51 porciento de padres de estudiantes enriquecidos con múltiples idiomas. Los miembros de la comunidad, representantes de los padres y personal escolar también son miembros del consejo
