Testing Information

 

Parents: Testing will be administered on campus. We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff by following CDC and district guidelines. In addition, be aware that each state assessment has a different amount of time allocated for completion. Students who receive accommodations will be provided with the support and accommodations they need. Parents are responsible for providing transportation for their students.

Important Testing Reminders

  • Masks are required at all times
  • Bring a water bottle for after the test
  • Grab-and-go breakfast options will be available as students arrive
  • Students should bring devices (fully charged) AND charger
  • Devices should be restarted for updates when student arrives on campus

Get Ready Before Testing

English Language Learners

Strategies During Testing

  • Get plenty of rest the night before each testing day

  • Eat a good nutritious breakfast the morning of each testing day

  • Avoid the morning rush

  • Think positively about doing your best!

  • Stop using electronic devices 30 minutes before bed each night leading up to the test

  • Wear comfortable clothes

  • Bring a jacket (some rooms are colder than others)
  • Use the dictionary, it is your best friend during testing

     

  • Use your extended time, DO NOT RUSH!

  • Pay attention to cognates--words that in two languages have a similar meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.

Examples: Balance, agenda, admirable, capital, cerebral, horizontal

 

  • If you have accommodations, maximize the use of them

  • DO NOT RUSH!

Closing Out 2020-2021

 

Make-up Testing: Students unable to attend the FSA test on the specified dates will be able to still come and take the test during makeups. Makeup examinations will be administered every day from May 11 through May 14. Additional information regarding our makeup schedule will be distributed next week after FSA testing.

 

Common Final Examinations (CFEs): CFEs will be administered during a modified block schedule on May 18th, 19th and 20th. Students will be able to take the CFE for the respective classes virtually. Additional information will be provided in future newsletters.

 

End of Year Celebrations: Our End of Year Celebrations and Awards will be released through a virtual presentation on May 20th by 5:00 p.m. by grade level. Join in our annual 8th Grade Spirit Week to celebrate the future success of our 8th Grade students: you will be Stallions, forever!
